Biko Biolabs focuses on secure, self-sufficient, sustainable solutions to universal basic needs: food, energy, medicine and materials. The diversity, size, scale, physical and economic isolation of small, remote, and marginalized communities uniquely calls for decentralized, low capital technologies using cheap, locally available inputs. We use biology to turn waste into stuff: Plastic film waste transformed into soil through a green catalyst that enables conventional composting. Industrial fungi grown on post-consumer textile waste.
